Just as blockchain currencies are built on the idea of scale and massive computing resources, so too is Al. But is it inevitable that only our largest organization, with their vast data sets, will decide how we will use Al? What if we could start small and work at the scale of the personal? With this project the machine was taught using a handful of photographs taken by the artist of upstate NY flowers.
The system, severely crippled by the standards of "normal" Al, struggles to understand. Nothing that emerges is accurate, but the work isn't asking for accuracy - it's asking for the machine to build its own unique vision of the natural world.
